A Romantic Valentine Dessert….

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Mmmmmmm……

Chocolate and strawberries (pink feathers optional)…is there any greater combination? Well…maybe chocolate and raspberries…but raspberries are a bit more difficult to dip in chocolate! This is a really simple dessert idea for Valentine’s Day…and, of course, any other day you’d be so inclined to make them!

Take a couple of chocolate bars, my favorite to use for this is Hershey’s Special Dark, and melt them in a saucepan or double boiler. Once melted take your (washed & dryed) strawberries and dip them in the melted chocolate, several times…this is one time double, even triple, dipping is allowed! After you’ve dipped them and have them nicely coated set them on a sheet of wax paper to set. This is a great gourmet looking treat to bring to a party, too, especially if you use the oversize California strawberries that begin to show up about this time of year. Lay down a “bed” of coconut on a pretty plate or cake stand and set them on top for an impressive presentation.

Enjoy!
