Do You Fancy A Floral Feast?

Floral table settings are my absolute favorite! These selections from Horchow are very pretty, however, I must admit, I prefer more pinks, and I like to mix new with vintage china. (that is yet another post!) You can see from the variety here that floral dishes are available in quite an array of colors and patterns from a light & airy feeling to a warm, fallish feeling.
The wonderful thing about floral patterns is that they usually consist of many colors…why is that wonderful, you ask?! It’s wonderful because the possibilities are endless when it comes to varying your table linens and accessories! If you’ve got 5 or 6 or more colors in a pattern to draw from it is so easy to reinvent your table from day to day! Why reinvent your table, you ask?!
Why not?! When you have a choice, in any area of decor (and setting a pretty table is the opportunity to “decorate” each time you do so) it keeps things fresh, adventurous; it allows you to be creative in an easy, everyday sort of way! When you are prepared with a few different options with your linens, candles, etc. it is so easy to put that pretty table together even for an “ordinary” everyday meal. Setting a pretty table is as much a feast for the eyes and senses as preparing that delicious meal is a feast for the tastebuds!
When you feed your body…why not feed your senses as well?!A light and airy dessert to serve on those pretty floral dishes……from my friend, Sherry.

Lemon Delight

2 c. flour, 2 sticks butter, melted

1/2 c. walnuts (or pecans) crushed, 3 boxes instant lemon pudding

8 oz. cream cheese, softened, 2 pt. heavy cream whipped w/ 2 T. sugar
(or 1 lrg. cool whip)
4 1/2 c. milk , 1 c. confectioners sugar
Preheat oven to 350 bake. Blend butter, flour and nuts together and spread in bottom of
9 x 13 glass pan. Bake for 25 to 30 mins. Let cool. While that is in the oven make up your pudding with the milk and refrigerate.
Then mix cream cheese, conf. sugar, and 1/2 of the whipped cream together and spread on top of crust.
Next, spread the thickened pudding on the cream cheese layer and finish with a layer of the remaining whipped cream. Garnish with crushed nuts and lemon zest.
Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours, at least, before serving.
This dessert is light and refreshing and irresistable!
Enjoy!
