Trim the Tree Thursday……The Family Room…

WOW! I am getting soooo excited! Can you believe it?! Christmas is only 8 (yes, eight) days away! Yippee!
Today is Thursday! and that means it’s time to share our Trimmings for the holidays!
Brett at The Southern Hostess is our charming host…if you visit her, you’ll see a list of very creative bloggers who’ve embellished their homes for the holidays and are gracious enough to share with us so that we may be inspired…isn’t that nice?!
Last week I mentioned hoping to bring you pics of my family room this week…well…here it is, in bits and pieces!
This is a new vignette this year…still tweaking…I wanted to display my Vintagey/Victorian looking pieces together this year. I purchased a few new items and added them to my other pieces I’ve had for years.
(click on pics to enlarge)

Sorry about his pic…I flipped it in Picasa but….who knows! It is too pretty not to show you…so…please tip your head for a moment or two…and enjoy!

This table is in the corner at the end of the sofa, I refresh it seasonally by just changing out a few items. The silver tray with the candlesticks and angel replaced an animal print tray with a plaque and a small arrangement with a white pumpkin (for fall). The angel is one of my Fitz and Floyd pieces….I just love her!

Oh…you can straighten your head now…ouch…sorry!

This bunny tea set is more of my Fitz and Floyd…I think it’s called Woodland Winter (or something like that)! This is on my coffee table, so I can enjoy it more often than when I displayed it on my countertop. I have a couple Fitz and Floyd Santas I’ll share soon! (they’re dressed in PINK!)

This one is obvious! The fireplace is always a challenge…I never feel like it looks quite like my dreams….probably because my dream fireplace looks more like this…

…embellished of course, with the white floral swags in December’s Victoria magazine (page 68)…aaahhhhh, mmmmmmm! That vision is firmly planted in my mind…did you all see it?! I just can’t get it out of my mind! (…visions of white floral swags danced in her head…

This is my “big” tree…not as big as the one I used to have, but big, compared to the other two trees. I decorate this tree with a mix of ornaments I’ve had for years, newer ones I get each year and different “fillers” I change from time to time. This is the tree we put our presents under and where we open them on Christmas morning.

I do love this topper…reminds me of a Victorian hat! (kind of)

Thank you for stopping by, I enjoyed your visit! Now you must go see all the other beautiful ideas!

EASY ELEGANCE tip: Don’t forget to make some time for YOU this week…it’s easy to get caught up with all those last minute things that just HAVE to be done…but none are more important than taking care of YOU! (bubble bath, pedicure, tea party for one, chocolate and a glass of champagne…these are a few of my favorite things!)

Enjoy!
