Tablescape Thursday…Dining Al Fresco…

Please indulge me as I share another round of inspiration for dining in the great outdoors!
I just returned a few days ago from a long weekend in Alexandria VA to celebrate my brother’s wedding only to be leaving again to go to New England to do a special PINK Tea for about 20 ladies!
In between, all my creativity has been focused on preparing for the Tea, creating next weeks newsletter (BTW, if you haven’t already signed up for my free bimonthly newsletter you can do so at the top right corner of the page…next week will feature some ideas for Mother’s Day!) unpacking, doing laundry and re-packing! Along with getting all the favors wrapped and some of the food prepared ahead.
The upside to all this is that NEXT week…I’ll have some FABulous pictures to share with you!
For now…please join me in my dream journey of dining “al fresco”…

If I were an International Jet-Setter, I would have a rooftop penthouse in New York City! The penthouse would have an outdoor patio like this one, except I would have lots of colorful blooming flowers in beautiful urns all around. Hydrangeas, roses, lavender, geraniums, pansies, peonies, lilacs, daisies and more…and of course, a gardener! The patio would have covered areas with french daybeds and vintage bistro sets and lots of candlelight…and billowy gauzy white curtains enveloping them. If…I were an International Jet-Setter…which I am not!

Now these tablescapes and settings I can do! Because… I am a woman who loves to set a pretty table outside in the garden or on the deck…both of which I DO have! Lucky me!

Isn’t this tablesetting from Martha Stewart so adorable?! Bird nest centerpieces filled with peonies running down the center of the table…romantic casual elegance! Then a smaller version has been set atop each place setting and is used to prop up the place card…romantic casual elegance…all the way!

These two pics, from Fotobank, really captured my attention! Althought they depict two very different color schemes, both are warm and welcoming and really showcase delights from the garden. One being flowers, the other herbs.
Wouldn’t you just love to dine at one of these tables? Smooth jazz or light classical music playing in the background…warm and breezy summer evening…I am so there!

This last pic from Williams-Sonoma looks like it’s set for one of my favorites…an Elegant Summer Buffet! Just look at those hydrangea! It looks like we’ve missed the main course and have arrived just in time for dessert….hmmmm…that was great planning now, wasn’t it?!

Thank you for joining me on my “al fresco” journey…next week will be a real treat, I promise!

Now…you must go on over to Between Naps on the Porch, say hello to our FABulous hostess, Susan and then stop by each of the Tablescape Divas that are participating in this most fun event!
