Last Minute New Years EveTablescape
This New Year’s Eve was a bit different from previous years. Most years I have a house full of guests and I do a casual buffet with paper plates. This year it turned out that many of our family and friends were away or had unexpected last minute things come up…so, we ended up having just one other couple, some dear long- time friends, over for dinner. For some reason it didn’t dawn on me until about a half hour before they arrived that I had to set the table! I guess I was thinking “paper plates, buffet, etc.”! It had been a busy few days before and I was fighting some kind of bug thing, so I guess that’s why I wasn’t really on top of things.
Anyway, I had a bout 10 minutes to quickly set the table while I was preparing for everything else.
So here is my “10 minute, Easy & Elegant New Years Eve table”!
I love the cool icy feeling from the silver rhinestone studded chargers, icy blue dinner plates, silver sequined napkin rings – a gift from my dear friend, Catherine at Catherine de the Cups and the mismatched vintage silver flatware.
I switched the centerpiece from the breakfast table…low enough to see over for conversation… because the large floral arrangement was too high for conversation.
So, you see…there is always time to set a pretty table! The key is having the right elements at your fingertips!
I am linking to Tablescape Thursday….be sure to pop over and say “Hello” to our hostess, Susan, at Between Naps on the Porch along with the rest of the lovely ladies sharing their beautiful tablescapes.
Be inspired to set a pretty table….every day!
