Easy & Elegant Fall Decorating Ideas….and Giveaway Gift Hint……
As the weather begins to change course…slowly…it’s time for us to transform our homes from summer to fall!
My decorating philosophy is seasonal…3 seasons to be exact…spring/summer, fall and winter. To get my creative juices flowing so I can freshen up what I already have for that particular season….I look into my favortie magazines (Victoria, Southern Lady , Romantic Homes and Romantic Country) for ideas and inspiration. I also look through the previous few years of my own pictures to remind my self of what I have done and what elements I have in those storage bins in the basement!
As I was doing that today I came across these pics from a TV segment I did a few years ago…..featuring my favorite fall element “the elegant white pumpkin“!

It only takes a few readily available elements to create an elegant fall feeling in your home….mums, faux leaves, pumpkins, faux fur throws, and some rich colored fabrics…you can find elements that fit with your color scheme, too!
One of my favorite things to do is EMBELLISH! Who says just because a pumpkin is white it has to stay that way?! Now, I am the first to admit…I love white pumpkins BUT I also like versatility! I took some pearlescent pink craft paint and metallic bronze craft paint and painted these two pumpkins….to fit with what I wanted to do with them! The bronzed pumpkin was placed on a square plate and surrounded with bronzey colored glass stones and embellished at the top with faux leaf pick and some ribbon.
This white pumpkin was painted pearly pink and used for a centerpiece…it was hollowed out and then I placed a littleplastic container inside with some floral foam and water…then I cut the roses and stuck them in. I then tucked some ivy from my front yard in around the edges….isn’t it stunning?! I will be using this idea for a ladies tea event I will be hosting in October….it says “fall with a feminine twist” don’t you think?!
Best of all….transforming your home with a few seasonal touches is easy and fun and doesn’t require much time at all!
