Another fun and fabulous TABLESCAPE TUESDAY hosted by Susan over at
Between Naps on the Porch …if you hop over there after enjoying this post you’ll see a list of many other delightful places to visit for even more Tablescape Inspiration!

(at a winter party)
(at a Holiday Style Event)

Isn’t this stunning! An example of the “WOW” factor ! This tablescape is a real star! This table works for many occasions…but let’s think Christmas right now.

Taking a round table and covering it with a cloth that falls to the floor, I’ve used white for that snowy, icy floating feeling. Then take 5 or 6 short glasses (I used votive holders) and place them around the table upside down (these are the lifts that support your glass top). You then place 3 to 4 strands of the outdoor “icicle” lights with white cords around the top of the table as evenly as possible. To soften the look of the lights you’ll cover them with 3 to 5 yards of fine white tulle. Place the round glass top on top of all that (it will be supported by the glasses). Fluff the tulle and kind of tuck it in around the edges under the lights.

For the top, I then scatter iridescent garlands that will reflect the lights. I’ve also used table confetti and “snow’ that are iridescent and/or clear. Keep whatever you set on top mostly glass so the lights can shine through and be reflected. I’ve used this mostly for a punch or drink table, but have also used it for a dessert table, putting the desserts on glass footed dishes. At this time of year it could also be used for a winter scene you’ve created and would like to highlight during the holidays!

A perfect example of EASY ELEGANCE for the HOLIDAYS, which offers many other Easy Elegant ideas.

    Such as…

  • using silver, gold and crystal tabletop items for instant elegance
  • embellish your stemware with beautiful wired ribbon that coordinates with your table
  • layer shimmery pieces of fabric over your “lifts” to hide them and add sparkle and interest
  • arrange a short string of mini lights around your main dishes on your buffet tablescape for an extra sparkle

Variations for the “Floating Tablescape”: use pink for Valentine’s Day dinner party, use for a cake or placecard table at a wedding with the colors of the wedding, use pink or blue for a baby shower. This can also be placed on the end or in the center of a long table as well for “special” items.

What else can YOU think of?
