Spring Blossoms Nearby…..
When I returned home, I found several workers digging up parts of my front yard and perennial garden to lay new cables for Verizon. Unfortunately, some of my plantings may not recover and I found myself yearning to see blooms and blossoms instead of dirt, tanbark and little green shoots. I started daydreaming about places I could go to see spring in bloom. I thought of places several hours away and knew I’d not have time to visit Savannah or Charleston or Atlanta….I would, however, have time to drive 90 minutes away to Washington DC, my birthplace, to experience the beauty of the “Cherry Blossom Festival”. I could do that this weekend! I believe I will do that this weekend, or next….whichever weekend the weather is most favorable.
I’d like to encourage you to take time out for a dose of spring and blooms and blossoms…the renewing of life in nature. It is an inspiring experience….causing one to ponder the beauty and wonder of God’s awesome creativity. This experience motivates me to get down to business and get my home in order so that when the nicer weather arrives I am able to get out and enjoy the beauty of the season…the blooms, the blossoms, the warm sunny days, the longer daylight hours, dinner on the deck…I am getting excited just writing about it!
It has been a long winter, mild, but long, and I for one am ready to say “good-bye cold weather” and “hello spring”! How about you?
Why not plan a trip to our nation’s capitol and make a day of it enjoying the cherry blossoms, the blooming daffodils, tulips and hyacinth…experience spring blossoming nearby!nationalcherryblossomfestival.org
