As much as I hate to admit it…summer is pretty much…over! I do love the fall season and I am beginning to get excited about cooler days, fresh apples, Prince Charming’s incredible apple pies, colorful foliage and freshening my home with seasonal touches for fall. I am slowly getting used to the fact that the items still remaining on my summer to-do list will most likely have to wait to be completed until next summer. Now it’s time to start on the fall/holiday to-do list!Before I begin on that list I am going to allow myself the pleasure of adding some fall touches to my home. The segment I did on WHP-TV CBS 21 on Saturday focused on adding “warm fuzzy focal points” to select areas in your home.

Rather than getting overwhelmed with endless hours of redecorating your home for fall…focus on 3 to 5 “sweet spots” in your home that you can easily transform with just a few seasonal items to turn them into “warm fuzzy focal points” (or vignettes in designer-ese).

Begin with your entry, inside and out! Simple additions like pumpkins and mums go a long way in creating a warm and welcoming entry.

 

After you’ve warmed up your entry, inside and out, look around for a few other spots to embellish…some of my favorites…dining room table, fireplace mantel, side table, top of china cabinets/armoires, stairway, kitchen island, coffee table and the vanity in the powder room.
