What Does Your Dinnerware Say About You?

Are you “Artsy”?

Since I’ll be sharing some recipes with you over the next few days (gave up on the link for now!) I thought I’d add a bit of fun….at least I think it will be fun!

Have you ever thought about what your various dinnerware says about you? I say “various” because I’m assuming y’all have more than one “look” for your table, right?!

I admit…I have a weakness for beautiful tabletop items. I also love to mix up my patterns…talk about endless opportunities for variety! When you have 2 or 3 or 4 (or 10 or 12!) different patterns that work together you can create tons of interesting combinations when you set your table. For me, this is FUN and it prevents boredom!

Now by patterns, I don’t mean full sets of dishes necessarily, it can be maybe 2 sets and then different patterned bowls or salad plates or dinner plates to mix in….are you seeing this? I’ll share some pics of mixed up looks later…but to get things started, with the next few posts, I’m going to share some beautiful dinnerware patterns/looks with you…these are all from Horchow, but you can find beautiful dishes in lots of places including flea markets and thrift shops.

These dishes have a kind of “artsy” feel, don’t they? Colorful, whimsical, fun! Who couldn’t liven up a table with some of these? Do you see how you could mix these together and come up with some pretty combinations?!

Here’s a colorful and tasty recipe….kind of an “Antipasto” of sorts…great “guy dish”.

Chop 1 large red onion, 1(each) large orange, red, yellow peppers into bite size pieces.

Cube up about 1 lb. each of genoa salami, ham, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese. (I get these at the deli in approx. 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices)
Mix all together with your favorite Greek or Italian dressing and let sit overnight in the fridge.

Enjoy! and mix things up!
