What’s on Your Walls? Wednesday…a guestroom view…

This week I’d like to share with you a few of the views in one of my guest rooms…when your kids move out, you end up with “guest rooms”…they require WAY less attention than when our kids occupied them!!!
This piece is by one of my favorite artists…Guy Begin (pronounced Gee(hard g) Bayjeen). It is titled “Corsica Perfume”. We met Guy at an art show in NYC several years ago when I was looking for some unique pieces of art for my shop. Prince Charming and I were becoming quite disenchanted with what we were seeing…suffice it to say, there was no shortage of nudes and breasts!!! In every shape, color and medium you could imagine…on the next to the last aisle we came around the corner and Guy’s booth literally took our breath away!

Here in the midst of all this so called “art” was an oasis of beauty! In addition to that, Guy was painting and his son Patrick greeted us. I’m telling you they were two of the most humble and polite gentlemen I’ve ever met. This of course added to the beauty of our visit. I ordered several pieces for my shop and ended up bringing some of them home…I’ll share more from this artist in future WOYWW.

I have four beautiful pieces by this artist and I always smile when I look at them and remember the wonderful gentlemen associated with them! (click on pics to enlarge)

The other piece in this same guest room (formerly Prince, Jr.’s room)
is a piece I found at a flea market…again for just a few dollars several years ago.

It is another pastel, signed L. Gardner…I just love the softness of it, don’t you?

Thanks to Barb over at Grits and Glamour for hosting this blog party…stop by and say hello to Barb and then take a peek at the Wall Views of the rest of the guests!

Style tip:
When selecting art for any room be sure to select pieces you love, not pieces that “match”. By staying true to what I love in selecting furnishings for this room and then art pieces I love…everything ends up working together. These pieces were NOT selected to specifically “go” in this room and they would work in many other rooms in my home.

Here’s a bonus….this piece isn’t hanging on my walls but it does take up a portion of two walls in this guest room. This vintage armoire provides me with much storage in a very small room…in a very beautiful manner!

Thanks for visiting, as always I enjoy and appreciate your visits…I’m a little behind on my visits but will catch up in the next few days!

Tomorrow….Tablescape Thursday! Want to join the fun? Stop by Between Naps on the Porch and join in!
