Valentine Vignettes…..

…or…”warm fuzzy focal points” for Valentine’s Month!

As many of you know from reading my blog, I believe in “seasonal decorating” rather than decorating for a particular holiday. When I transition from Christmas/winter to Valentine’s/late winter only a few things change. I leave my smaller trees up, usually til the end of February; I put away anything that is strictly “Christmas” and replace it with more Valentine-y romantic-y type things like cherubs and hearts. That’s not to say you won’t see cherubs and hearts year round through out my home!
Here are a few of my “Valentine-y Vignettes” that I’ve put together in the last few weeks and will leave out til early March when I will declare SPRING upon my house!

My breakfast room tabletop…

Isn’t this little cherub adorable? I’m sure I must have found him at a discount store some time ago. The “vase” is a hot chocolate pot I found at a consignment shop and the roses are from the grocery store. The angelic pink feather boa is a staple here at my home…you’ve seen it pop up in many posts! The raspberry pink heart with all the bling is actually an ornament I found at Christmas time in one of our favorite places…either TJMaxx, HomeGoods or Marshall’s, can’t remember which. Of course I always have to include candlelight in my tabletop vignettes…I found these pretty deep rose colored tall tapers at my wholesale floral warehouse and the silver and crystal candlesticks I’ve had for years.

My front entryway…

ok! yes, this is the “vase” from the above tabletop…I temporarily moved it til I got my silver pitcher out…which I’d show you a picture of but the roses in that are a bit droopy now and will be replaced this afternoon…nonetheless…fresh flowers in the front entry always make me smile…when I’m coming and going and since my stairway is right there, every time I go up and down the stairs. Do you have something in your entry that makes you smile? What is it?

In the dining room….

This little bench, which didn’t look so pretty when I found it, sits in my dining room in front of the windows. The heart shaped pillow along with the pink iridescent pillow with the brooch and the little package are a romantic touch in this room that makes me smile whenever I come into the room!

In the great room…
This vignette invites me to sit for a cup of tea, enjoy the flowers and remember that spring is just around the corner while reading some pleasant thoughts!

What Valentine Vignettes have you created…do they make you smile?
