Does Your Mouth Know?!?

Did you know that every time you speak and every time you hear words spoken that your BRAIN is LISTENING?! Not only is your brain listening, but it is also being programmed with those very WORDS!

Isn’t that AMAZING!

If you are wondering WHY it seems you take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back, you need to check out the WORDS that are going into your brain!

Your brain is like a computer and every time you speak (and watch & listen to) something you are programming it.

Your brain BELIEVES and eventually causes you to ACT on whatever you are programming into it!


Proverbs 18:21 says, “Words kill, Words give life; They’re either poison or fruit – you choose.”

WOW! That’s pretty clear, isn’t it?!


There’s also scientific proof to back this up! Neuroscience has made leaps and bounds in the study of the effect of words and thoughts on the brain.

Neuroplasticity describes how the brain reinvents itself over and over again. Older pathways are replaced with new ones. What we say and focus on repeatedly actually creates new pathways (rewires) in your brain…..good or bad! Repetition causes deeper pathways to form. This is why it is so important to pay attention to what you say over and over again.

The WORDS you speak and listen to have an immediate, direct effect on your brain, causing an emotional response, and making your brain respond in specific ways according to what it hears (and sees).

This is true whether you are speaking the words out loud, thinking them to yourself, or listening to someone else’s words.

With that in mind (no pun intended), Think about what it is that you are:

  1. Saying Out Loud – about yourself, about others, about situations
  2. Saying Silently – that INNER voice that keeps going like a broken record inside your head
  3. Listening to – negative people; violent, drama-filled TV; sad, hopeless, tragedy-riddled music; fear and hype-filled news

What are you programming into your brain?  Do you see the connection between what you SAY and where you are in life? Are you where you want to be? Are you happy, at peace, confident, and fulfilled, seeing your dreams and goals achieved?
If not, and you truly want to see a change, you can start RIGHT NOW by simply changing the WORDS you are using to program your brain!
